Guy Darrough, a renowned paleontologist and owner of Lost World Studios created scientifically accurate dinosaur models and they go around to various botanical gardens and nature centers around the country. I believe this is the first time for them to actually come and visit Austin and they'll be around till November 30th.
Tina first told me about the exhibit several months ago and we had planned on going Oct. 26th, but then we found out that this weekend they were having a festival (one of 3 total events - the first was "The Hatching" on opening weekend and the last will be "The Extinction" on closing weekend) so we made plans to go today. We got there a little after 10 am (it opened at ten) and stayed till about 1 pm when Sweet Pea was in dire need of a nap because her normal naps are still from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. But boy, did Sweet Pea and Kobe have a blast there!
Thankfully, Michael's gotten better with the number of pictures that he takes. This time around there were only 346 pictures to peruse through, so it didn't take me nearly as long as it normally does to go through, re-size, upload, etc. Don't get me wrong - he always takes great pictures, there's just always SO MANY. So, good job with limiting the number of photos, honey!

Sweet Pea is a free spirit. She likes doing her own thing, so this is why she has a monkey on her back. It's a win-win situation. It helps me reign her in so she doesn't get lost in the crowd and she loves her monkey.

Sweet Pea said "Tina's hair, so pwetty!" and kept trying to touch it. Then she'd say "like mine!" and touch her hair. It was the cutest thing!

Now evidently they are all big crocodiles to Sweet Pea. It's pretty funny, even now she'll say "crocodile don't get me!" Speaking of the crocodile not getting us. Here's a picture of us running from the T-Rex. Kobe didn't want to play along though...

Here's some footage of Sweet Pea walking with her Dada. She just loves stepping on his feet, so she especially enjoyed being able to walk while standing on her Dada's feet.
After we were finished walking around and seeing all the dinosaurs, we headed back to the booth area. Sweet Pea and Kobe played a bit with a ball and then Tina discovered a booth where they could decorate their own dinosaur masks. They had fun doing that!

We had so much fun there and definitely plan on going back before the dinosaurs move on to their next botanical garden. I'm not sure if we'll be able to make it to "The Extinction" because I think we plan on going camping that weekend. We'll see, but regardless, we're going back - whether it's that last weekend or earlier!
