So, of course we had to do this year's run. I mean, heck, our girls literally were the poster children for this run. But seriously, we were planning on doing the run anyways. It's for such a great cause. You can read up all about this organization here.
The girls both dressed up as Wonder Woman last year, and decided that they both wanted to be Super Girl this year. This was a good thing, because the day of the race was pretty chilly. Those long-sleeved costumes kept them nice and warm while we were waiting for the race to start! Oh, also, they decided because they both were going to be Super Girl and because Papa Bear already had a Superman shirt, that he needed to wear it. Then, they further decided that if all 3 of them were going to dress up the same, then I needed to, too. So, we went as a Super Family. :)
Our Sweet Pea was a little speedster throughout the race. As soon as they said, "GO", she was off and Papa Bear had a tough time just keeping up with her because she was weaving in and out through the throng of people/kids.
Sugar Plum and I had a nice easy pace and I was quite proud of her for actually running about 98% of the race. She slowed down to a walk there about 3/4s of the way through, but then someone pointed out the bounce houses set up near the end for the kids to play on once they finished the race and that was all she needed to start back running.
Here are some pictures:
This was the poster that went up all around town. The people at Casa were nice enough to give us a few posters as keepsakes. We were actually at Half-Price Books down on Lamar and the girls saw their poster hanging up. They got a huge kick out of that!

The girls were all fired up and ready to run that 1K!

Strike a superhero pose, Sweet Pea!
Sugar Plum LOVED seeing Super Grover!
